Sheri,
Of the children of William and Patience Dillingham Light of Hawkins Co. TN, four boys left Hawkins and moved into MIddle TN in the very early 1800s.They can be found in the Humphreys, Dickenson and Hickman county census records of 1820, 1830, etc.
George, Michael, Wright and William were the four who left Hawkins Co. It appears that some of Michael's children moved into Mississippi. Since MS and AL border,it would be plausible to think that Robert (Bob) could possibly have been a son of Michael who may have moved on across the line into Alabama.
However, there are children of George and William who have not all been found yet.I'm sure there are also some of Wright's that haven't been found either and would make it plausible also, that any of these boys could have been the father of Robert (Bob).
I think another message stated that Robert was born 1802.If that is correct, then Michael and George both had children born around that timeframe.
Another problem is, they named their children after their brothers and no doubt, each brother had a set of boys with the same names as his other three brothers which adds to the dilemia of sorting them out.
I wish I could help you, but I've been searching for the descendants of these boys for a long time and it is no easy task.About all I can tell you is to check the census records of Humphreys, Dickenson and Hickman Co. and try to follow it from there.
I can't remember which one, but one of them isn't found in these counties as much as the others and I'm thinking it was William Jr., but can't be sure.He may have left there and moved on to Alabama.Robert may be his son if he did.I will let you know if I come across anything on it though.
Margaret
