Renee',

Thanks for the quick response to my query. As I've done further research (just this morning), I have surmised that Jacob Light, Sr was Tice's (Mathias') father. I'd love to share information with you.

The only thing that may be questionable is your death date for Tice. Harrison and Owen County records show that Tice died relatively soon after he reached Indiana, probably between 1807 (arrival in Indiana) and 1810 (1810 Census shows Mary Light as head of household). Tice may have simply been away from home during the 1810 Census, but an Owen Co. History (pub. Owen Litho Service for Spencer Camber of Commerce) suggests a rather early death date for Tice, before Hugh was fully grown.

Again, thanks for the quick response. I can provide you with information on the Newton Co. branch (if you don't already have it).

Nathan
