I may have found the origin of John Light of Lancaster Virginia (transported in 1666).
Compare these notes with John Lyte, an innkeeper and brewer of Bristol England, born in 1637 at Lytescary Somerset (Charlton Makrell Registers):
Both left records selling beer (Lancaster Court Orders; letter of cousin Thomas Baskerville; 1892 article Lytes of Lytescary in Somerset Arch Society).
One left Bristol for Virginia, the other lived and raised children in Bristol.
The Bristol merchant/brewer married Moll Tennant of Barbados, the home of Paul Lyte, brother of this john light born in 1637.
The John Light born 1637 is known to be the first cousin of the attorny George Light (b 1626) who lived in adjacent King and Queen County Virginia.
Also John light b1637 had a brother Edmund Lyte, whose name also appears in virginia records importing servants.
I had previously thought and published that JOhn trans 1666 was the merchant John Light(b 1604) who was father of George K&Q.
OOps, Steve Light
