Hello Florence,

According to Betty Hylton Co-cordinator, Washington Co. TN; the County Farm, County Home and Poor Farm were all the same located on Jim Town Road in Washington County, TN.

There was another County Farm in Ducktown but it was moved to Jim Town Road in the 1870's.

She stated that if your father was buried at the County Farm in 1942, he does not have a tombstone. There are only unmarked graves there.

I hope this helps. For more information on the County Home go to: http://www.tngenweb.org/washington/places/washPoorFarm.htm

Good luck!
Rita
