Eugene 'Gene' Light, 77, born April 10, 1932, of Rogersville,
the Beech Creek Community, Hawkins Co TN, died April 13,
2009, at his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, G. Washington
Light and Berlie Mae Light; three brothers, Oakly, Ira,
and Howard Light; and one niece, Peggy Morelock.
Surviving are three brothers, Hansel Light of the home,
Bob Light and wife Betsey, Rogersville, TN, Jack Light and
wife Judy, Rogersville, TN; one sister, Opal Morelock;
four nieces, Patricia Henry, Sue Light, Rebecca Light, and
Amy Falin; five nephews, Jimmy Light, Bobby Morelock,
Chris Light, Dennis Light, and Ivan Light; three great-
nieces, Brittany Smith, Whitney Light, and Greta Light;
four great-nephews, Micky Morelock, Michael Morelock,
Jacob Falin, and Jordan Falin; three great- great-nephews;
and five great-great nieces.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.,
Thursday, April 16, 2009, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes,
Fall Branch Chapel. The funeral service will be conducted
at 8 p.m., with Brother Dan Dolen and Elder Shelton Meade
officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday,
April 17, 2009, at Morrison Cemetery in Rogersville, TN.
Pallbearers will be Ivan Light, Chris Light, Clayton Light,
Micky Morelock, Tom Light, and Jerry Matthews.
Donations may be made to the family of Gene Light, c/o
Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, P.O. Box 27; Kingsport, TN
37662-0027 to help defray funeral expenses.
