Ethel Wilcox Light, age 85, of Kingsport, Sullivan Co TN,
died on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 Wellmont Holston Valley
Medical Center after an extended illness.
She was born in Hawkins Co TN, September 4, 1922 and spent
most of her life in Kingsport, TN. She was a member of
Sullivan Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years,
Lover Light; parents, Mr. and Mrs. John P. Wilcox;
sisters, Opal Ashby, Lois Deathridge and Onnie Tunnell;
brothers, Willie Wilcox, Dexter Wilcox, Raymond Wilcox and
Earl Wilcox.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law. Marlene and
Monte Phillips of Kingsport, TN, son and daughter-in-law,
J.P. and Patricia Light of Washburn, TN; grandchildren,
Brian Fleenor of Hunnington Beach, CA, and Sheldon Maguire
of Richmond, VA; two great-grandchildren, Haley Maguire
and Spencer Fleenor; four step-grandchildren, Oscar Phillips
of Greensboro, NC, Suzanne Trendel of Charlottesville, VA,
Karl Phillips of Honolulu, HI, and John Phillips of
Kingsport, TN; three step-great-grandchildren, Oscar,
Carson and Sam Phillips; sisters, Ora Fields of Kingsport,
TN, Marie Jones of Rogersville, TN; brother, Jack Wilcox
of Atwater, CA; also several nieces and nephews.
Services for Mrs. Ethel Wilcox Light will be held December 8,
2007, at 7 p.m. at the following location:
Oak Hill Memorial Park, Funerals and Cremations

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday,
December 8, 2007 in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel
of Oak Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow with
Reverend Rick Light and Reverend Jeff Strong officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday,
December 9, 2007 at East Lawn Memorial Park. Family and
friends will meet there by 1:45 p.m.
