Elizabeth:
In the 1880 census of Floyd County, there is the family of Samuel Light, age 27, with wife Emmerly age 31 and son Samuel, age 10. Could this be your Samuel? I think I know the lineage of this family. My g-gfather was also a Samuel Jackson Light, but born in Patrick and died in Floyd, just the opposite of your Samuel. They were all closely related.
