I am also a descendant of George Light through his daughter Rebeckah who md Elijah Moody 29 Nov 1821 in China, Maine. Have you had any luck in tracing Hannah Meserve's family?

I came across a deed, dated Feb 1810, land in Palermo where four girls conveyed all their right, title and interest from the estate of Clement Meserve. They were Sarah (md William Cunningham), Lucy (md John Whitman), Polly/Mary b. 1775 (md 1801in China to Stephen Beldin, Jr. ) and Hannah/Nancy (md George Light). This Clement Meserve was listed in Palermo in 1803, settled in the southern end of town near the Beldings and a Mrs. Mary Meserve was assessed highway taxes in 1806. My Stephen Belding, Sr. was the first settler to Palermo in 1769 and had resided in Balltown (now Jefferson, Maine).

I knew there were Meserves living in the Nobleboro/ Bristol area, but haven't been able to tie them to this Clement or Nany and Mary. Can you help?
