We're talking Lancaster Virg not Penn.
You asked where do we find the name John Light in Lanc VA?
In 1666 a John Light is transported to Lanc Va.
He did not leave a will in Lanc Va (perhaps in England)
He left many tith records except in the years
he is away selling "silk, etc" in New York and Philadelphia.
John left some jury records where he and Sir Edward Dale and
Colonel Ball(Washingtons grandpa) got thirsty at a hot
boring grand jury. The old cavalier John Light shouted
"Drink for the Jury!!!" Ball produced a jug.
Old John (born 1606 in Charleton Mackrell Parish, Som Engl)
left his last record in 1691.
In 1691 the name John Light appears twice.

1691 (1 tithe) "John Light" (b1606)
(1 tithe) "John Light" (This one is father of John Light Senr of Halifax)
[tithes from Sam Sparatio's book]
Sam Sparacio says there were two Johns in 1691.
The two boys turned 16 in 1691 therefore born about 1676.
Old John (b1606) was 70 in 1691. He cant be the father
and old John's son George(b 1626) the agent lived a few
miles away in King and Queen co va. George Jr of K&Q lost
'Hockley' cause he was a juvenile heir at law.[thacker patents]

1692(3 tithes) "John Light"
Three men worked the tobacco fields that year.
(Old John. [Young John, & George turning 16 says
Peggy Hill of Mary Ball Libraray in lanc.]

But, George Junior was the eldest grandson, and therefore inherited the Lancaster
farm, an 'heir at law'. This proves that 16 year old John in 1691 was the younger
grandson destined to learn a trade and left Lanc Va. You couldnt will land to
anyone other than the eldest male or they escheated (took) your land.

The last and only other mention of John Light (ba 1676) is in the 1736 Amelia tithe.
Here our John(wife bridgett) was called Jr, proving that his father
was also named John---John Light (1676-da1736) of 'Hockley" in K&Q VIRGINIA!!!!

forgive my enthusiasm, its late at night
Steve Light

PS My eldest nephew, my eldest brother, my father and grandfather are all named
"Harve Clifton Light". Clifton plantation is near John Light's farm in Lanc.
