Capt James Light HMA
Posted by: jane Date: June 02, 2001 at 23:18:54
  of 2090

Capt James Light was in 12th Veteran Battalion HMA. He was married to Mary (unknown surname). They had four children.
3 sons were also in army:
Maj Light 30th Regiment
Capt Light 50th Regiment
Lieut Light 28th Infantry

Their only daughter was Harriette Light who was born c 1806 in Dublin where her father must have been stationed. She married Walter Page Cousens in Wilton Somerset in 1830. This family migrated to Australia and is my line.

Family oral history suggests that we are somehow related to Col. William Light who founded Adelaide but I have not found any evidence to support this claim.

If any one has any information on the background of James Light would gladly like to hear from you!
