Hi John,
I have Alexander marrying twice. April 17, 1794 he married Martha Farmer (1774-1801) at Gregory Farmer's house, Lancaster, Pa. There were 5 daughters born in this marriage. I have their dates and spouses if you want them. The last child, Eleanor, was born 27 Dec. 1801.Marthadied after then but I have no record of when. Have not found her burial place either. Either Lancaster or Hopewell, York Co., Pa.
Our line is from the second marriage - their third son John T. Liggit (9 June 1813-30 May 1848).He died in Logan Co., Ohio.I have not found the marriage record of Alexander's marriage to Mary (Polly) Gibson yet but it was ca 1802-1805. Their first child I have record of was born 16 Oct. 1806 in York co. Pa. - named William Liggit - probably born at the homestead because Alexander's father William died in 1803.There was some dispute as Alexander got the homestead and older brother, William, thought he should have it.To this marriage 4 sons and two daughters were born. There was one infant that did not survive.
I have this line documented correctly but I can't find the father William Liggit's military records. Can you help there? Also this William's father was George Liggit.
E-mail me if you want any of this forwarded on to you.
Best always,Johanne
