Duncan Lidgate was my great great grandfather and he came to canada in 1853. They settled at Craigflower. He helped to build the Craigflower school. In 1858 he built a home at Mount Newton X Road and this house is still standing. The house is called Rose May Cottage. Duncan Lidgate helped build St.Stephen's Church. He died in 1874 and his stone is right on the left as you enter the church.
