My mum always told us that her family came from Scotland & could of been or linked to the High sheriff,after many years i have found the family,sadly not the link to the High Sheriff.....John,son of Robert & Ellen Liddle was born at Canongate Edinburgh around 1847-1849.
Other siblings are Ann,Jane & Robert,possibly others.
Their father Robert was born New Moulkand Lanairdrie{?}around 1817.
Ellen,their mother was born around 1824 St Enoch Glasgow.
This is all i have on them fromthe 1851 census,by the time the 1861 census is taken they have moved to Liverpool England. From there i can't find anything further on the family,only John.
If anyone can help me find Ellen's maiden name & when she married Robert would be great........not only that,if they are lurking in your tree somewhere,please email me.
