George Liddle and Eleanor Weedy
George Liddle and Eleanor Weedy were married in Northumberland, England about 1825. Eleanor is believed to have been born in Alnwick, Northumberland Sept. 24, 1803. George's birthplace is still an unknown, possibly Scotland. They had two known children, George, born July 2, 1826 and William born March 8, 1829, both in the Cannongate area of Alnwick, Northumberland. George Jr. married Margaret Ann Dixon in Newcastle, Nortumberland on May 13, 1849 and eventually ended up in the Durham County area where they had six known children. This was a family of coal miners and they followed the coal trails in and around Durham County, living in areas such as Tanfield, Dykes Head, Causey Row, Hobson and Lintz Colliery. Their children were Margery, George Thomas, William, Thomas, James and Henry John. If anyone has any knowledge of this family, please respond directly to my email address([email protected]).
