Hi! John Walter and Ellis' parents were Samuel Witherspoon Liddell and Margaret Jane Parker, who were both born in Alabama in 1834 and 1855 respectively. I swear the parents were hatched from eggs because I have been trying to track them down since the mid 1970's with not much luck. I have found them in the 1850, 1870, 1880 and 1900 census; and have found Samuel's military info and know where they are buried but I have never been able to find out anything about their parents or siblings.
They had the following children:
William Edwin, born 1872
Grace Ruth, born 1874
Samuel Charles, born 1877
Robert Franklin, born 1880
John Walter, born 1883
Ellis Lafayette, born 1886
Lucy Maud, born 1888
Joseph Pulitzer, born 1891
Emma Ethel Adaline, born 1894

Vimena Liddell Parsons contacted my grandfather and my great uncle Ellis in the 1950's asking for family info to see if they were connected to her family. I have the letter that she wrote to my grandfather. I'm sure there was probably more correspondence but this is all I have.
