Don't get your hopes up with a connection to the Michigan Libharts. I am aware that a branch of my family (who arrived in 1727) went to New York, then Michigan in the early to mid 1800s. They used the spelling Libhart. I'd say there is a good chance they were the ancestors of this group. My ancestor was Adam Liebhard (1691-1767) who settled in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania in 1727. He left many descendents of various names including Lepperd, Lippert, Leaphart, Leopard, Libhart, Lephard, Leber, Libert, etc. Best of luck with your search!
