Hi Tracee,
Just received an email from my Washington connection. I asked Mr. Sy Wong to inquire about your village with an elder Mr. Lee. Yesterday he went to his weekly meeting in Chinatown and he inquired. Mr. Lee had no information but another Mr. Wong told him of a Wong Hong with Lee surname near Shuibu (north-eastern Taishan). Sy attached a hand drawn map with his email. To make a long story short, I managed to find he second Wong Hong on one of my maps also.
To resolve this I enclosed a copy of your granduncle's certificate and asked Sy to run the full name by the other Mr. Wong. Let's hope both Mr. Wong will attend next week's meeting.
Sorry to throw this curve at you. But at least we know the second Wong Hong has Lee's which is a positive sign.
