Hi Clare,

I'm repling to an old posting so as I'm not sure if you will see this I'll keep it very brief.

I have Leyden ancestors from Liverpool with the earliest to date being Daniel Charles Leyden a clerk from Ireland.

He married Alice (surname not known at this point) bef 1846 when my 2x gt-grandmother Alice Leyden was born. I have found a possible death for Daniel's wife Alice in 1856 and a birth the following year in Dec 1857 in the IGI for a Charles Edward Leyden father: Daniel Charles Leyden and mother: Caroline, so a possible second marriage for Daniel.

If any of these names fit in with your research then please get in touch, there are very few Leyden's and variants in Liverpool in the early to late 1800's.

Regards Val in Lancashire.
