Hi Anthony, Apologies for the long delay in repling, I thought I had replied earlier, but checking my sent mails - clearly I had not.
It was interesting to hear that there are other Leycocks in the world. All of the names in this country are spelt Laycock, which is why I was surprised to get a reply. My Grandfather also spelt his name Laycock, until he joined the Royal Navy, as a boy of 14, when somehow his name was changed to Leycock! It was back in the 1920s, so I suppose spelling was not important back then, anyway the change stuck.
