I have the following data on a William Lewis, b. 1762, a rev. war vet.He moved from Pittsylvania, VA to Surry Co., NC @ 1762.Notice the Dodson ref.:

1830 Wilkes Co., NC census has William Lewis, b. 1762, and son the right age for William Lewis, b. @ 1800; the same census page is a Chapman Lewis, possible son of William and Mary Dodson Lewis? And several Perdue families, (Alexander 1st m. a Sarah Perdue in 1849).
