Iwan LEWIN m. Nelly KOCH, Berlin, son b. abt. 1905
Hello,
I would like to find out more about Iwan Lewein and his family. Iwan Lewin was Jewish. He married Nelly Koch from Höxter, a protestant, about 1904 in Berlin, where their son Fritfof LEWIN was born about 1905. Nelly KOCH divorced from her husband in the 1930ies, when divorces of mixed couples were encouraged. However, Iwan LEWIN survived the persecution by the Nazis, he hid in the cellars and tunnels in Berlin (the tunnels were built to make an evacuation from the cellars easier in case of an air strike). My father remembers that he traded with laces and that he brought some of his ware with him as a present, when he visited his NEBELSIEK relatives in Veckerhagen near Kassel after the war. Nelly KOCHs sister was my father's grandmother.
I really would like to find out more about this family.
Uta
