Hello,
I am trying to find information regarding my Great-great grandparents. I am new to this Genealogy search so it has been quite difficult. I have limited information on the two. There names are Josef Lewandowski and his wife Melanka (Melanja or Molly Bohomolec).
Josef was born about 1878 or 1879 in Galicia, Poland. That term (I have come to learn) is one of the hardest places to retrieve information since Galicia was split between a couple of countries. He came over to America around 1912 to Pennsylvania. He came over again with his wife in 1931. They had 2 daughters and 2 sons (Hanushka, Horpyna, Iwan or John, Wasyl or William, and Alexius or Alexander. He died at the age of 67 in 1937. He has lived in the following cities (but I do not know where the first two are located): Pstragowska, Czestylow, & Kladky.
Melanka was born Jan. 2, 1873 in Kladky, Galicia and she died on May 25, 1940. Her mother's name was something like Movi Kluse and her father's name may have been Josephus. She also resided in Kladki, Ternopol,& Galicia.
This is all the information I have on my Great-great grandparents. I hope someone out there can help me out. I have been killing myself trying to find this information.
