Udell Levy, son of Hyman Levy
ok, here goes again (seems like I'm forever doing this, but I get good results this way):
I have a death certificate for UDELL LEVY, age 87 years, 10 months & 25 days...maybe I should start at the beginning of this death certificate...
LEVY, Udell, widower, white male, died: Good Samaritan Hospital, Lexington, Fayette Co, KY; residence: 316 Kingsway Drive, Lexington, Fayette Co, KY; spouse: ESTHER LEVY, died: Oct 27, 1933; birth date of the deceased: Dec 7, 1860; age: 87 years, 10 months & 25 days; birthplace: Yanova, Lithuania; occupation: retired real estate dealer; father: HYMAN LEVY, born: Lithuania; mother: nothing available, born: Lithuania; informant: NATHAN LEVY, Lexington, KY; burial: Lexington Cemetery, 11/4/48; funeral director: Kerr Bros, Lexington, KY; filed: 11/16/48; died: Nov 2, 1948; treated from 1946 to Nov 2, 1948; last saw alive: Nov 2, 1948; expired: 6:05 pm; cause: lymphosarcoma (cancer of the lymph glands), 1 year duration; other conditions: general arteriosclerosis; signed: Franklin Blount, MD; file # illegible;
Does anyone know who this man's mother was? I type these death certificates for the Estill Co Historical & Genealogical Society to put in book form and I love the learning process...I don't charge one cent for my labor...I love doing this.The reason Ed Puckett, the man who gathered this material, pulled this death record is because there were Levy's in this area at one time..Sam Levy (I think this was his name, the best I remember) used to run a clothing store here in Irvine before he died, they were of the Jewish religion, and were quite affluent. I don't know if Udell Levy was related to the ones that were here, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised to find that he was...I need Udell Levy's mother's first and maiden name if at all possible...I hate not being able to fill in all the blanks for future generations...any help appreciated...I noticed the name Hyman Levy was quite common but don't know if any of the ones I've seen on genforum is the one I'm looking for...HELP!Diana Covey Frymyer Mussaw
