I suspect this man might be related to a decorated British soldier of the same name, about one generation older. I suspect in turn that he is of Irish stock. I found Charles while looking for someone else, and have not kept any notes, but I know he had a child baptised at Edinburgh castle, because that is what made him interesting. But when I got the certificate and found he was a military man I realised that he was not a native of Scotland as was my ancestor

If you want to know more please contact me.

On the other hand anyone who suspects a connection to Scotland would be very interesting to me!

Regards
Andrew
