Hello there,
my Grandmother was Ethel Lever. She was daughter of George Lever b 1859 d 1946 last address was Chapel Street Levenshulme, Manchester and Emma Smith b 1861 d 1945 both were buried at Reddish, Cheshire. [Georges parents were apparently Samuel Lever and Elizabeth Rowlands]; Ethel had several other siblings: Hannah, James, Samuel, Florence and Phyllis.Ethel, her husband Stan Hargreaves and daughter Freda (my mother) emmigrated to Australia in 1927, the other siblings all remained in England. I have one living relative that I know of in England that can still provide some info.
They all believed there was some link between them and the Lever Bros family but the how was never explained to me.My grandfather who was 100 when he died in 1992 said that George Lever came from a small town called 'Little Lever' and was in some way related to Sir William Lever?
Thats about all I know ... but regardless would love any clues to the relationships for my genealogical searches.
Any clues would be great.
