Livingood Cemetery

The following is from an article published by the Lebanon Daily News and written by Schuyler C. Brossman concerning the LIVINGOOD Cemetery in Tulpehocken Township, Berks County, Pa.

Directions: To get to this cemetery from Womelsdorf, Pa. go North on Route 419 for 4.4 miles, left on Deck Road 3.7 miles then right on Temple Road 1 mile to cemetery on hill behind fourth house on left.

History: A patent was received by Jacob for this land. Formerly Livingood Meetinghouse (St. Paul's United Brethren)

There are 26 carved stones.

Livingood, John, Died January 12,1887 ; aged 67y Co.F 167, Civil War.

Frantz, Malinda (Livingood) w/o Levi F., Died November 26,1886 ; aged 34y 1m 14d.

Livingood, Sarah Ann (Bickel) w/o Jacob, June 11,1847 - August 21,1866 ; aged 19y 2m 10d.

Livengood, Georg h/o Eliza (Livengood), November 23,1823 - July 8,1863 ; aged 39y 6m 16d (sic). Enlisted in Co.H 151st, September 16,1862, wounded at Gettysburg July 1,1863.

Lewenguth, Jacob, April 8,1793 - March 30,1863 ; aged 59y 11m 2d.

Lewenguth, Catharina (Muller) w/o Jacob, September 22,1801 - June 6,1862 ; aged 60 y 10m.

Shower, Adam E., February 9,1823 - February 2,1887 ; aged 63y 11m 23d.

Indicates graves are laying almost North to South. There are 25 rows East to West and 10 rows including the 10 feet into the field indicating room for 125 graves, likely most lots full. The South side stops at the roof extending the building.
