I don't know specifically of a John Levar in Canada, but I am researching another LeVar in Georgia who would have been a contemporary. I don't know for sure that he is one of my ancestor, but we suspect he is my 3rd great grandfather. His name was Philip LeVar and we know that he was living in Georgia by 1793. Family legend says that he came to the U.S. with brothers and may have arrived in Savannah or New Orleans.

We think that Philip was married to Mary and stayed in Georgia.

Any possibility there is a connection?
