Lesters of Loudoun Co., Virginia--John, Peter, Thomas, Abner, Samuel & Abraham
I recently found several Lester records in Loudoun Co., Virginia for John, Peter, Samuel, Abner, Thomas, and Abraham.
I also found a Joseph Arthur who had a wife Martha and a son James. I wonder if Joseph Arthur could be the father of Abner Lester's wife who is said to be Martha Arthur??
Note: Loudoun Co. formed in 1757 from Fairfax Co., Virginia

Peter Lister on Tax List
Loudoun Co., Virginia
On James Hamilton's tax list is Jas Abett, Jas Vessels & Peter Lister with 3 tythes for them.
Notes: Jas Vessels and Peter Lister are grouped under Jas Abett (Abbott) so I assume they were both working for him. To be counted as a tythable, a white male had to be 16 or over.
So who is this Peter Lister? Could he be an older son of John Lester of Loudoun County? The name Peter Lester fits in nicely with the Bucks Co., PA Lester family.

Thomas Lester on Tax List
Loudoun Co., Virginia
On Nicholas Minor's Tythables list is William Adams with Thomas Lister and 4 negroes.
Notes: Thomas Lester is grouped under William Adams so I assume he was working for him.
Could this Thomas Lester be a son of John Lester of Loudoun? Interestingly, on same page is John Ball. There was a John Ball family that married into Lester family in Bucks Co., PA. I don't know if this is same Ball family or another one.

John Lester Has Pennsylvania Currency & Joseph Arthur
Loudoun Co., Virginia
Re estate of Samuel Patterson: "CR by John Lester's Bond (three each fro 55 pounds Pennsylvania Currency)..." Also named here is Joseph Arthur who is paid his claim.
Notes: Joseph Arthur of Loudoun Co., VA had a wife Martha and a son James. Could he possibly be the father of Abner Lester's wife who is said to be Martha Arthur?? Her father could NOT have been the explorer Gabriel Arthur because he lived in the 1600s!!)
