Richard,
I have done a book on the descendants of James Lester, Sr. but it has not been published.
Rebecca's brother married Elizabeth Boozer.I did some work on the Boozer family long time ago, but did not add it to my book.I have been working with a descendant of Charles and Jane Musgrove Lester and have many of his children and grandchilden in my work.
The Musgroves were a well known family in Newberry County, SC during the Revolution and after.Charles was a Tory as were three other brothers.Mine fought with Frances Marion The Swamp Fox in Orangeburg, SC.I have an old file and will look to see what I might have on Allen Lester.I know he represented my ancestor Isaac Lester, Sr. at the reading of the Will of the father in Newberry County, SC in 1808.
My Meacham line comes from Virginia and then NC.I am a descendant of Henry Meacham, Jr. who came from Sussex County, Virginia to Northhampton County, NC.His son Col. Henry Banks Meacham, Sr. was my ancestor and fought in the Rev. War.I proved my lineage to DAR in 1993.Banks Meacham was a brother of Henry Banks Meacham, Sr. and he has also been proved to DAR.He was married to Wilmuth William of Northhampton County, NC also.Henry Banks Meacham Sr. died in Baldwin County, Georgia in 1834.
All the descendants of James Lester, Sr. of Newberry County, SC can join the DAR through James. He was proved from a descendant who lives in Jones County, Georgia. She was a descendant of the brother, John Lester who came to Baldwin and Jones County, Georgia in 1806.They were descendants of the Hawkins.John married an Edwards in Newberry County, SC.
I'll be happy to share what I have on Allen if you send me an [email protected]
