Hi:Have you found anymore about your Viau/Lesperance family that went to New York?
I checked my records here in Ogdensburg, New York area and do not find a Joseph Lesperance. However, my husband's grandfather was Alphonse(Alfred Mose) Lesperance, b. 21-Dec. 1870 in Ogdensburg, NY.His father was Francois (Frank) Viau dit Lesperance b. in Lonqueuil, Quebec about 1835 son of Antoine Viau dit Lesperance and his second wife, Marie Brais. The were married 01-July-1811 at Lonqueuil. His first wife was Theotiste Dumont and he married her 22-Oct. 1804 at Boucherville,
Quebec.I hope some of this helps you in your search.Laurine Amo
