Nancy most sources claim that Pedro I was married twice, first to Aniceta Gallegos and then to Maria Dolores Garcia-the latter in 1858 not 1853. One might suspect that Pedro's daughter Cesaria, was the daughter of the first one as she is baptised with that surname. Do you know if Cesaria's baptism lists her parents. The odd thing is Pedro is shown on the 1846 with Maria, then Cesaria was born to Aniceta? in 1849 and then Pedro is back with Maria on the 1870 census.
Apparently, accordingly to Congressional records, Pedro did get the land grant he requested in 1839 "on the Tecolote River, 16 miles west of Las Vegas, NM" or are you referring to an other land grant that he requested when you say he did NOT get the land?
In your message to Bob you say you have all of the baptismal records of the children of Pedro 2...and their marriages..and grandchildren..and marriages. I would be interested in this information as I have been trying to collect it. I have 7 children for him and 43 grandchildren.
I have the Lesperance line traced back to 1717 in France.
