Researching my LEROY side of the family, which traces back to Philippe LeRoy, Bordeaux, France, died 18 May 1663, married 25 Nov 1649 to Phillippine Sesenfants. I'd be interested in being in contact with any other descendents/researchers of this line.

My Great Grandfather was Eugene LEROY, who immigrated from Bordeaux France to New Orleans around 1860 with his brothers Germain and Martin. He owned a large, profitable plantation, and the Mississippi Riverboat Creole. He married Theresa Duvernois BURTON in 1869 in New Orleans. After the Civil War they lived at Vieux Carre, St. Peter's St., New Orleans. He died 8 May 1874. Wife died the next year, 25 Jan 1875 in a shipwreck on the way to Philadelphia.

The father of Eugene, Germain and Martin LEROY was (Victor Gabriel) Eugene LEROY, the novelist, from the Bordeaux area of France. They also had another brother Louis who stayed in France.

Eugene's ancestry goes back as follows: Victor Eugene (m Marie Pepronnet > Jean > Jean > Guillaume > Jean > Jacques > Phillippe (d 1663).

Does anyone connect with this family? Ray
