My name is Bernard Leonard. I was born in St. Leonard's, Nfld, Can. in 1937. My father Peter Leonard, born in St. Leonard's in 1898, d 1948. His father was Bernard Leonard , born in St Leonard's 1859, died in 1905.
his father Edward Leonard born St. Leonard's 1931, died in
1900. Edward is rumoured to be the son or grandson of an Oliver Leonard who came from Ireland or England about 1750 or 60. Unfortunately haven't anything definite before Edward.
There is one other family of Leonards who came to Newfoundland and settled in British Harbour and as far as I know not related to my ancestors
