i'll try this from a different perspective...two Leonard cousins come to the U.S. from Ireland via England, probably in the early 1800's. One stays in Kentucky while the other side moves on to Texas where the descendants Sarah and son John Leonard are eventually in Angelina County, Texas at the time of the Civil War. it may even have been one with the surname Leonard and the other with another surname.
my line is John Leonard, and mother Sarah, who come on to Texas. the only two census records i have found have them stating Georgia or Flanders as their birthplaces.
maybe i should put this line prior to 1860 to rest in 2012, this wall has been tough! Help!!!
