Have you asked Beth Wilson? Most likely this Elsie is a descendant of the Alonzo LEONARD family who moved to Batavia from Rochester. There is an Alonzo LEONARD Jr. b 1842 about whom I know nothing.
My g'g'grandmother Rebecca LEONARD (dau of George & Olive) had a sister Elsie Elizabeth LEONARD (1819-1896) who never married and who lived with the family of Austin HICKOK COLE and his wife Julia Augusta MOORE COLE in the 1880 census.(Julia MOORE's mother was Rebecca). The COLEs had a large family and a well-known grocery business. This Elsi was buried w Frances MOORE LEONARD, widow of Ira LEONARD and sister of Rebecca's husband William Henry MOORE, who was also the business partner of Austin HICKOK COLE.
