Looking for proof that Contance Leonard married Henry Cochrane "The White Seneca" after he helped her escape from the Senecas and their return to the Wyoming Valley.
"The White Seneca" and "At Sencea Castle" tells of the story of their capture, romance, and escape after the destruction of the Iroquois Confederacy during the Rev. War. Constance, her father, and 2 brothers had been captured during a raid. Her mother and 2 sister-in-laws had been killed during the raid. Her father and 2 brothers had been tortured but they let her live. Henry was captured in 1774 and Contance about 1775. Henry says Constance was about the age of his sister, Electa who was a couple of years younger than him. He was born abt 1759 as he was age 15 when captured.
