I've been trying for years to find my grandmother, Rebecca Jane (Shepherd)Lester's parents and grandparents. I found her parents and they are Leonard Shepherd adn Judy Cameron. Leonards parents are Alex Shepherd and Dicie Roberts. I've just learned that Alex Shepherd changed his last name for some reason. His real name would be Alex Leonard. I have no info on him or Dicie Roberts. Their son Leonard (which he named after his real last name) was born 08/07/1882 in Hanvoer Wva and Died march 25th 1962 in Hensley Wva and buried at Pads Fork, Wva. My grandmother and my mom and her sisters and brothers had no idea. Mom said that she heard her grandfather Leonard talk about them living on a Indian reservation in Portsmouth (I don't know the correct spelling of that) either in or near Ohio,Va Wva in that area. If anyone knows anything or could find anything out about this, I would be very grateful. I hope to hear from someone soon.
