Dear SH leonard, You will have to go back a lot earlier than 1761 to find our Royal connections! i have done years anD years of this genealogy and Sir Henry remained in England and James Leonard ,Taunton came to Us in the earlys 1630's. He came with two other brothers! One of whom started the Ironworks in New Jersey and the other Saugus,MA. James stayed in Taunton and His son Thomas became a judge. jAMES ran an ordinary or public house with his wife in later years! And yes, they did go back to Royal Roots, the older part of the family remaind Torey's during the revolutionary war but the young folks like Zadoc and Archelous, son's of Simeon were PATRIOTS!
The three brothers James ,Henry, and Phillip came over at the request of the then Govenor of MA. and the King of England. all these things that I speak of are documented in England as well as here in the US. Happy Hunting, L Leonard Hughes
