William/Ann Leonard County Cork to London Docks 1847
William/Ann Leonard born respectively in 1819 & 1822 in County Cork fled to London around 1847, their way to survive during the Irish Potato famines that killed more than a million back home. They had three sons who all followed their father to the London Docks where they worked throughout their lives. They had 3 children:
William b. 1851 m.Fanny b.1857 = Charles 1878 James 1880
John b. 1856 m Eliz.Skinner = John, Edward, James b. 1895
James b.1859
My grandfather, James Leonard, 1895 - 1949 married Wilhelmina Degerlund and had two daughters, Gladys b.1913, Patricia b. 1920 (Life was interrupted by WWI) James Leonard ended up on the London Stock Exchange 1934 - 1949
