Dear Mr. Scala,Of course you are right.Tracing back, I note that Abel Leonard, b.22July1656 is listed in the 9th generation, whereas most other names with so early a birthdate are in the 11th and 12th generation.It seems logical, therefore that this genealogy which was researched by Miriam Hart Cook at the turn of the C.19, has at least one, possibly two generations missing.My niece, Deborah, is the official family genealogist and has the tools to research this.Remember, people, especially ministers, moved a great deal at that time. I'm sure Great Aunt Miriam was an enthusiastic amateur but Deborah has a M.A from the U. of London in Eng/Amer History.Your Jacob would fit that empty slot admirably and it was very usual for both father and son to be ministers. This is an interesting puzzle. C.
