Thanks for your post.
I've found out my great, great grandmom was from SOUTH Carolina, not North. (South Carolina being also a Confed. state).
My great grandmom was Mary Dunn (probably an Irish Catholic) who married Joseph Leon (of France, or possibly Cuba) around 1880's.
I do, however have a Jacob Henry Leon, born 1850 (of Paris, France)...He married a Maggie (Magdalena) Schregler? and they lived in NJ.
His offspring were many, one of which was Jacob Arthur Leon.
In addtion, I have a Rev. Arthur J. Leon who had four children of his own in Camden.
I would like you to check out my family tree website, so that you may see all the Leon names to see if any ring a bell. You can view it by copying and pasting the following website address...
I would like to hear back from you in any case, as there were few Leon's in Camden/Trenton at that time, it is a possibility there is some connection here.
Many thanks,
Charlene Leon
Best Regards,
Charlene Leon
