I'm not researching the Lenox name but I happened across a gravestone in Washington County, Oregon with this on it:

LENOX

Dec 1, 1802 - Oct 18, 1873
Louisa Swan
apr 5, 1807 - Nov 9, 1879
David Thomas Lenox donated this land for the church and cemetery from his original land grant and organized the first Baptist Church West of the Rocky Mts 1844.
