I have recently aquired 2 very old framed photos from the estate of Eliza Dunlop Johnson,(Petersburg,Wingina,Richmond,Virginia). She has written on the back of one photo" Botwich Castle on Loch Lomond in Dum or Dun (bar__). An ancient mansion of the Earls of Lenox. The residence of Robert Findlay of Botwich whose mother Dorothea was da(ughter)of Robert Dunlop of Househill in Renfrewshire, a younger son of Garnkirk(e)." and the other "The Lodge and gate at Gart Ferry"She also wrote in Garr Ferry as if she isn't sure. Next she wrote "With Latin Mottoes "Peace and wealth to those coming in and going out".
I live in her home which she named "Garnkirk" in 1901. She is an aunt by marriage of my husband. however I am trying to find out all I can about her and these photos. Please share ANYTHING.
