This is just a note to keep bad genealogy from going any further.
Lorinda (or however you spell her name) Lenox had two sons out of wedlock in TN. Richard Lenox, b. 1848, who married Nancy Gann, and Spencer Lenox, b. 1844. The father was said to have been Jack Holt. This information is in several records. Lorinda and those two children were born in Tennessee.
She wound up in Barry Co, MO, married to John Pippen and had several more children.
Lorinda's parents were Nathan Lenox and Margaret Carter.
Maybe there was a William Tomas Lenox, but he wasn't married to Lorinda Lenox. And "Lorinda Carter Lenox" was not the mother of Richard and Spencer Lenox. Just plain Lorinda Lenox, unmarried, was the mother of Richard and Spencer Lenox.
And I do have documentation.

P.S. There was another, later, Lorinda Lenox, parentage unknown, but in the same family. She married Thomas Tucker in St. Clair Co, MO.
