JAMES & RHODA LENNONS are my gggrandparents. I have not directed my research attention on them as yet as I am still chasing those promiscuious CARTER'S. In "ARKANSAS 1911 Census of Conf. Veterans of the Civil War, p.92...Certified by A. E. Thompson, Assessor of CARROLL CO., AR., June 4, 1912....THOMAS CARTER (my grgranfather), of MAPLE, ARk. was born APRIL 25, 1842 at FLINS LICK,JACKSON CO., TN., the son of WILLIAM CARTER,son of ENOCH JEREMIAH & MARY CARTER...born in VA., who also lived at FLINS LICK, JACKSON CO., TENN. Maiden name of subject's mother was ELIZABETH LENNONS, dau. of JAMES and RHODA LENNONS of FLINS LICK. "JAMES LENNONS'ancestors came from ENGLAND and first settled in VA. ENOCH CARTER & ancestors came from IRELAND & settled in VA. Subject received early education in Tenn. under teachers S.S.Stanton, Albert Johnson & DALE CARTER. He was a farmer, a Democrat & a Baptist. Was 1st Co."G", 25th Tenn. Regt. enlisted in JACKS CO., TENN.July 30, 1861 to close of war, paroled. Married HARRIET COLLIER, dau. of L. C.(Littleton C.,Jr.) & ELIZABETH (Phariss) COLLIER of FLINS LICK, TENN. on Dec 1860 at JACKSON CO., TENN. Children: HARRISON CARTER m SARAH (McCORMACK) (my grandparents), OK.; 2. J.(OSEPH) W. CARTER m MARY, OAK GROVE,ARK.; 3. JOHN CARTER m MAUD, OAK GROVE, ARK.; 4. J. T. CARTER m MOLLIE, OAK GROVE, ARK.; 5. ABRAM CARTER, MAPLE, ARK.; 6.
