The ancestry of the former Beatle named John Lennon is so indistinct that no one, to my knowledge, seems to know much beyond his parents. If you find something all of us would be glad to know about it.

My GGGGGgrandfather, John Lennon (c1700-1757) is first documented by a Crown Grant of 640 acres in Bladen County, NC, in 1743. We have no reliable information about him before that date.

In 1635 one Pierce Lennon was granted 250 acres in Charles City County, VA, as head rights for hinself, his wife Rebena (Rebecca?), and three men who traveled with him from Scotland? We think he (or his family)originated in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, but can not prove it.

Yours aye, Lyn Lennon
