Lenhart Family Genealogy Forum

Hi, thank you so much for all of this!!! I haven't had a chance to pore through it yet, but I'm looking forward to it.
Did you know your grandmother Ida? Do you happen to know if she went to her sister Susannah's funeral? Susie Beechy was my mom's grandmother, and she remembers going to the funeral and seeing several of Susies's sisters there, and noticed that some were in "English" clothes, some in Penn Dutch or Mennonite dress, and some were in plain/Amish clothes. I'm guessing Ida was more Western and less plain?
Also, my mom remembers hearing that Sarah Lenhart and /or Solomon Beechy died, or couldn't take care of their children. Some were kept on the farm to work, others were sent out to be adopted (maybe?)--she isn't sure if they kept the older ones, or the younger--if the older ones stayed to work the farm or they were sent out to work other people's farms. Does this sound familiar to you?
My mom was born in Sugarcreek; everytime she comes to visit me she brings me Trail bologna! It is great to talk with somebody who knows these places and these people. Laurie
