Ben: I have been trying to research a Barbary Lindeman on the 1850 census in DE. I ran across the variant name "Lenderman" on a DE site and found your posting on this surname's Genforum. I noted the use of the given name Barbary and your reference back to (Johann) Heinrich Lindemann/Lintiman/Lindeman/Lindermann, son of Justus from the Loyal Judith arriving in Philadelphia in 1741. Barbary ( born in PA) and her, I assume, children - Elizabeth,6; Catharine, 5; Jacob, 4, all born in DE- are living in the 1850 New Castle Hundred household of my Brown ancestors, Jacob & Elizabeth ( both born in PA). All given names are common of the times, but Barbary is more rare. Perhaps, it is just a coincidence, but I couldn't help but wonder if Barbary Lindeman could somehow be connected to your Barbary Lenderman. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Valerie Brown Davis
