I tried to find the Lemoine plantation on the internet but came up empty handed. Is there an actual building still standing on what you referred to as the Lemoine plantation? If so is it still called Lemoine plantation and do you have a photo of the house? I did find a listing for the Lemoine cemetery in Colfax...is this the cemetery you referrred to? Also was the Donas Lemoine an owner of the Lemoine plantation? I'm interested in all of this because I'm a descendnat of Anne LeMoyne/Lemoine who was the aunt of the famous LeMoyne brothers (Jean Baptiste LeMoyne founder of New Orleans and his brother Pierre who founded Bilouxi,MS ) I'm interested in everything connected to the LeMoyne/Lemoine family as I do what has been refrered to as "full" genealogy. I live in Burlington,Vermont which is in northern Vermont on the banks of Lake Champlain. We're about 1 1/2 hours away from Montreal,Quebec,Canada where the LeMoyne family originated in North America. I have numerous ancestors who came from France to Montreal in the 1600'S. Are you a native of Louisiana? Do you have other lines besides Lemoine back to Quebec/France? Looks like you and I are distant distant cousins through our Lemoine line. It would begreat to correspond with you & swap family information with one another. My e mail address is neroots.noreen@gmail.com if you want to get in touch with me other than in this forum.I look forward to hearing from you either way.
