I have LeMoynes in my family tree dating back to the 1500s ending with a female - Jeanne LeMoyne Lousche. The line was Marin LeMoyne (b 1500)> Francois LeMoyne (b. 1540)> Jeanne LeMoyne(b. 1565). They were from St. Aubin, Tourourve, Mortagne, Perch, France. This is in Normandy not far from Dieppe where Pierre LeMoyne (grandfather of Bienville) was an innkeeper.
I am interested in determining if there is a family tie between these two families, but I have not seen a LeMoyne genealogy earlier than Pierre in that line or the names of any siblings of Pierre. My family was associated with the LeMoynes (Iberville, Bienville) in New Canada and in Louisiana. Surnames for Canadian families were: Hervieux, Pinguet, Chevalier or LeChevalier, Lousche or deLousche. Surnames for Louisiana families that were associated with Bienville are Hervieux and Gallard de Chamilly. Gallard de Chamilly was from Falaise, France - also in Normandy.
Any information will be appreciated.
